Email Provider Setup

Configure Resend, SendGrid, or custom SMTP for reliable email delivery.

Choosing a Provider

SteepleOS supports multiple email providers:

  • Resend: Modern API with excellent deliverability. Recommended for most churches.
  • SendGrid: Established provider with a generous free tier (100 emails/day).
  • Custom SMTP: Use your own mail server or any SMTP-compatible service (Gmail, Outlook 365, etc.).

Configuring Resend

  1. Sign up at resend.com and verify your sending domain.
  2. Generate an API key from the Resend dashboard.
  3. In SteepleOS, go to Settings > Email and select "Resend" as your provider.
  4. Paste your API key and verified domain. Click Test Connection to confirm.

Configuring SendGrid

  1. Create a SendGrid account and complete sender authentication (domain verification).
  2. Generate an API key with "Mail Send" permissions.
  3. In SteepleOS, select "SendGrid" as your provider and enter the API key.

Deliverability Tips

  • Always verify your sending domain with SPF and DKIM records. This dramatically reduces the chance of landing in spam.
  • Use a consistent "From" name (e.g., "Grace Community Church") so recipients recognize your emails.
  • Monitor your bounce rate under Communications > Health. Remove invalid addresses promptly to protect your sender reputation.
